ATTENDANCE ON THE RISE FOR AURORA ARTS THEATRE SHOWS

Post-COVID audiences returning for live productions; A Chorus Line up next starting July 15

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (July 6, 2022) — The singular sensation, A Chorus Line, returns to Aurora Arts Theatre Friday, July 15, through Sunday, August 28.

Directed by Debra Aguilar and choreographed by Isabella Ranson, the local production features a talented cast of 21 Coastal Bend performers, as well as a live orchestra. Performed in an intimate 108-seat “black box” theater setting, with the stage three feet from front row seating, audience members enjoy a unique immersive theater experience.

“Now more than ever, people are craving live performances,” said Dylan Rios, marketing director for Aurora Arts Theater. “With the help of our all-volunteer community actors, musicians, and others, we are able to continue doing just that. Our attendance numbers increase every month and we're glad to be continuing with live theatre productions, now in our 12th year.”

There will be three performances each weekend, a total of 21 in all: Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and a Sunday matinee show at 2:30 p.m.

Winner of 10 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, A Chorus Line was originally conceived, directed and choreographed for Broadway by Michael Bennet. The show finds 17 dancers competing for a role in a new Broadway musical. They must perfect vigorous dance combinations and share personal stories about their life in hopes of impressing the relentless director. Heartfelt monologues and beloved musical numbers like “At the Ballet,” “The Music and the Mirror” and “What I Did for Love” underscore the dancers’ remarkable journeys to the stage. A Chorus Line is a timeless experience that’s bursting with artistic passion.

Tickets are $20 for all shows and can be purchased online at auroraartstheatre.com, through the theatre box office at 5635 Everhart Road in Corpus Christi, or by calling (361) 851-9700. Box office hours are 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Patrons requiring special accommodations are urged to notify the Box Office at least two weeks in advance.
