Aurora Arts Theatre Announces 'Pay What You Can Performance’

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (August 20, 2024) — Aurora Arts Theatre is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever "Pay What You Can Performance” on Sunday, August 25, 2024 for its 2:30 pm matinee performance of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. As part of our ongoing commitment to making theatre more accessible to the Coastal Bend community, we are inviting patrons to experience the lively and heartwarming musical at a price that fits their budget.

In these challenging economic times, we recognize the importance of offering everyone the chance to enjoy live theatre, which is why we’re encouraging patrons to pay what they can. While a suggested donation of $5 or more is appreciated, it is not required. Our goal is to welcome everyone to experience the magic of theatre.

"We’re thrilled to offer this initiative as a way to connect with our community on a deeper level," said Dylan Rios, director of marketing at Aurora Arts Theatre. "Theatre has the power to inspire, uplift, and bring people together, and we want to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to experience it."

We hope to continue this initiative with more productions throughout the year, reinforcing our commitment to making theatre a vital part of life in the Coastal Bend.

Patrons can reserve their tickets by visiting our website at auroraartstheatre.com or by calling our Box Office at (361) 851-9700.

ABOUT THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents compete for the spelling championship of a lifetime. As they spell their way through a series of challenging and possibly invented words, they share hilarious and touching stories from their home lives. Each contestant hopes to avoid the dreaded "ding" of the bell that signals a mistake. While only one will emerge as the champion, the rest will at least leave with a juice box!

This show contains language and themes which are intended for mature audiences only.
