Help Save Aurora
Many of you may know of an old children’s book titled The Little Engine That Could. The book teaches, optimism, determination, and hard work. We at the Aurora have certainly put that lesson to the test. With the help of our community, business partners, patrons, friends, and families, the Aurora is trying desperately to hold on to the theatre we’ve all grown to love.
You, our community, have certainly shown us a great amount of love and encouragement. You’ve contributed and/or participated in our rummage sales, movie nights, curbside popcorn sales, and numerous other fundraising activities in an effort to keep our doors open. Your donations and support are what have sustained the theatre through these trying times, and you are the reason our lights have not dimmed. Our community efforts in the battle against this unexpected foe have certainly allowed us to hope that we’ve turned the corner and are nearing better times. Financially surviving the pandemic is ever present in our minds and all donations received have been used accordingly with that objective in mind. Although businesses have begun to open, venues like the Aurora are still not able to operate at full capacity. This limitation affects our ability to generate the funds needed to operate the theatre as was done prior to the pandemic. While we do see adjustments to the restrictions being made, the future of the Aurora is still very much a concern.
Forever Plaid, our first musical in over a year, took the stage this month and was a huge success! I feel that we are ever so close to getting through this terrible time, but we are not in the clear yet! We humbly ask for your help once again. Any contribution made is greatly appreciated and will be used to help keep our theatre open. With your help, maybe we can amend The Little Engine That Could mantra from I-Think-I-Can, I-Think-I-Can to I-Know-We-Can, I-Know-We-Can.
Thank you so much for your continued support & for supporting the theatre you love.
